Middle School Competes in Three Matches

The Middle School Golf Team Competed at Willow Creek Country Club on Sept. 16. Noah Jessup shot a 41, Tucker Swails shot a 46, and Jordan Harris shot a 50. Miller Hopkins and Lauren Worley both shot a 56. Coach Ryan Pendleton said, “The middle school kids improved by eight strokes from the first match at Willow Creek. On Sept. 17, the team hosted Floyd at Gordon Trent Golf Club. Patrick County shot a 177, and Floyd County shot a 227. Noah Jessup led the Cougars with a 41, followed by Tucker Swails with a 43, Jordan Harris with a 46, and Miller Hopkins with a 47.

Pendleton said, “The Middle School team had four scores in the 40’s, which was one of our team goals.” They finished up their week on Sept. 18 at Olde Mill Golf Course. PC won the match with a score of 191, followed by Carroll County with a 224. Tucker Swails shot a 44, Noah Jessup shot a 48, Kylee Joyce shot a 49, and Miller Hopkins shot a 50.

“I am very proud if their improvement on a very tough course,” the coach said.
