More than 1,500 ballots have been cast in local and national contests on the ballot, days before the November 5 election. Registrar Susan Taylor said 1,534 early voters visited her office to cast their ballots as of the morning of Monday, October 21.

Voters can head to the polls on Tuesday, November 5. All polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

A sample ballot is printed in this newspaper showing the names of the candidates.

A registered voter needing to vote early may do so in person at the Registrar’s Office, located at the Patrick County Veterans’ Memorial Building, 106 Rucker St, Rm 216C, Stuart. The office is open Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“This Saturday” October 26 “and next Saturday, November 2, “we’ll be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.,” Taylor said.

The final day for early voting is Saturday, November 2, at 5 p.m. For additional information contact the Registrar’s Office at 276-694-7206.

To vote early, Taylor said a form of identification like a driver’s license, passport, military ID, voter card, bank statement, or utility bill, is needed. “It’s the same documents as those required on Election Day,” she added.
