More than 40 indictments handed down

Grand jurors handed down more than 40 indictments on June 5, according to records in the Patrick County Court Clerk’s Office.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, but a grand jury’s determination that enough evidence exists to warrant a trial.

Those named in the indictments are:

*Lonnie Lee Howell, 48, of Stuart, one count each strangulation and abduction, Oct. 30.

*Raymond Chiron Jax, III, 47, of Floyd, two counts grand larceny, Nov. 8.

*Mathew Lamar Neace, 30, of Patrick Springs, one count each possess firearm by convicted violent felon, strangulation, and abduction, Dec. 3.

*Melissa Prater Rumley, 39, of Stanleytown, three counts obtain money by false pretense, May 1, 2022, to June 30, 2023.

*Johnathan Eugene King, 33, of Spencer, elude, Aug. 17.

*Kasey Shane Blakely, 33, of Stuart, elude, Nov. 18.

*Jerry Lyndon Blakely, 36, of Eastbend, N.C., possess firearm by convicted felon, Nov. 20.

*Frank McKinney Washington, 40, of Lowgap, N.C., construction fraud, Nov. 5, 2021.

*Johnathan Christopher Woodie, 32, of Pulaski, grand larceny, Oct. 5.

*April Dawn Bowman, 45, of Stuart, break and enter, March 2, 2022.

*Jordan Anthony Capps, 22, of Spencer, destruction of property, Jan. 17.

*Zachary James Denny, 27, of Bassett, grand larceny of a motor vehicle, Aug. 2.

*Shannon Dawn Lane, 40, of Patrick Springs, one count each grand larceny and burglary, Sept. 17, 2021.

*Jammie Matthew Craddock, 40, of Stuart, strangulation, Dec. 24.

*Justin Leon Hylton, 32, of Stuart, one count each strangulation and abduction, Jan. 16 – Jan. 17.

*Christina Gaye Testerman, 50, of Meadows of Dan, grand larceny, March 27, 2021 – April 3, 2021.

*Michael Wayne Kessler, 44, of Stuart, one count each larceny of catalytic converter and grand larceny, March 21 – March 29.

*Corey Adam Martin, 34, of Stuart, two counts assault and batter on law enforcement officer (LEO) and one count possession of Schedule I or II drugs, March 5.

*William Tyler Pearson, 19, of Stuart, one count each grand larceny and break and enter, March 21.

*Alvis McCray Foley, Jr., 56, of Stuart, one count each possess Schedule I or II drugs and possess Schedule III drugs, Feb. 14.

*Dionte Morris Nowlin, 21, of Stuart, one count each robbery using a firearm, abduction, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, Dec. 29.

*Roger Lundy, Fox, Jr., 51, of Claudville, two counts of possession of firearm by a violent felon and one count each remove/alter vehicle serial number and possession of stolen property, Jan. 1 – April 5.

*Summer Nicole Collins, 35, of Stuart, one count each welfare fraud and welfare perjury, June 1, 2022 – Dec. 31, 2022. 

*Clinton Haley, age unknown, of Stoneville, N.C., possession of Schedule I or II drugs, Nov. 26, 2019.

*Travis Lee Hawks, 36, of Ararat, obtain utilities by scheme, June 1, 2022 – Sept. 1, 2022. 

*Matthew Ryan Scott, 37, of Patrick Springs, possession with intent to distribute Schedule I/II drugs, July 14, 2020.

*Jessica Sutphin Smith, two counts possession of Schedule I or II drugs and one count each drive while intoxicated and reckless driving, Dec. 30.

*Barry Zwerling, 45, of Stuart, one count each welfare fraud and welfare perjury, Oct. 1 – Jan. 23.
