Mr. Albert Lynn Shouse

Mr. Albert Lynn Shouse, age 78 of Stuart, passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  He was born on September 20, 1942, in Winston-Salem to the late O.E. Shouse Jr. and Helen K. Shouse.  Along with his parents, Mr. Shouse is preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Sidney and Sarah Jones.   He is also preceded in death by a brother, Tim Shouse, and two brothers-in-law, Leon Jones and Junior Jones.

Mr. Shouse’s strong dedication for his work and community was evident through his 20 years of service with CCDF Fire and Rescue, where he was known as “Pops”.  He retired from RJR Reynolds in 1996, and later started working with The Enterprise.  He was a member of Hills Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Shouse loved his family.  He was affectionately called “Pa” and “Dude”.

Surviving are his loving wife of 51 years, Patsy Shouse, of the home;  two daughters, Holly Williams (Warren), of Stuart, and Lea S. Love (Joey), of Mount Airy, North Carolina; two sons, Andy Shouse (Shelia), of Stuart, and Jacob Shouse, of Waverly, Virginia;  grandchildren  Wren Williams (Britt), of Stuart; Rachel Williams of New York, New York; Katie Cox (Zack) of Charlottesville, Virginia; Ceanna, Caraleah, and Emsley Love of Mount Airy, North Carolina; step-grandchildren, Elizabeth (Clint) Walker, Teresa (Ryan) Cochran, Jamie Lynn Vest, Emily (Chris) Webster; step-great grandchildren, Nathan Hensley, Joseph McKinney, Matt Walker, Bree Walker, Grant Cochran, Cora Cochran;  a brother, Robert Shouse (Helen) of Fayetteville; a sister Suzanne Montgomery of Huntersville, North Carolina, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 18, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with pastors Eli Roberson and David Heath officiating.  Burial will follow in Stuart Church of Christ Cemetery.  The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home.  Pallbearers for the service will be Randy Burge, James Goins, Josh Smith, Matt Baliles, Andy Atkins, Nate Bowman, Jeff Martin.  If desired, memorials may be made CCDF Fire and Rescue, 1409 Dry Pond Highway, Stuart, Virginia.  Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
