Mr. Michael Noel Vaughn, age 75 of Bassett, Virginia passed away at Roanoke Memorial Hospital on Monday, April 26, 2021.  He was born in Stuart on November 22, 1945, to the late Noel Vaughn and Dorothy Stedman Vaughn. Mike retired after 30+ years with Henry County Public Service Authority. He loved reading the daily paper, keeping up with current events, traveling to flea markets and looking for antiques. Mike loved riding the roads. He was always looking for a good barbecue or seafood place to go eat.  He never met a stranger and was willing to stick out his hand to meet someone new. Mike was a proud Vaughn, and beloved husband, father, brother.  He spent the last two years as primary caregiver for his ailing wife, Catheryn.

Mr. Vaughn is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Catheryn Stanley Vaughn; one son, Michael Vaughn of Alexandria; one brother, Gary Vaughn (Elaine) of Stuart; one sister, Judy Shelton of Stuart; one half-sister, Jeannie Howard; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held in Meadows of Dan Baptist Church Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2021 with Speaker Rick Street officiating. Mike will lie in state for friends to come by and pay their respects on Friday, April 30, 2021 from 12-5 at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
