A Stuart man was charged Monday after an alleged altercation with another man, according to Patrick County Sheriff’s Lt.  Steve Austin.

Justin Matthew Moore, 36, of Pole Bridge Road, was charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle and reckless handling of a firearm in connection with the incident, according to a release from Patrick County Sheriff Dan Smith’s office.

Authorities reported that Moore arrived at his home and found another man inside who allegedly was invited by Moore’s wife.

An altercation occurred inside of the home, and the visitor tried to flee in his vehicle, the release stated.

A weapon was produced, and multiple rounds were allegedly fired, according to the release. The vehicle was struck several times, the release stated.

“Thankfully, no one was seriously injured during this incident. Once the altercation is over and one party is leaving, you just can’t start firing shots at them,” Austin said.

Moore is currently being held in the Patrick County jail without bond.
