Mrs. Beatrice Bowman Spence

Mrs. Beatrice Bowman Spence, age 82 of Claudville, Virginia passed away unexpectedly on April 27, 2021.  She was born in Virginia on February 3, 1939 to the late Pate Bowman and Lois Ergie Nunn Bowman.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Trenton Ellis Spence; one son, David Spence; one sister, Judy Anderson; and one brother, Buddy Bowman.  Mrs. Spence retired from CMI with 45 years of service, then worked at the Ararat Post Office, and lastly, she worked as an in-home caregiver.  Beatrice will be remembered for the wonderful person she was and how she never met a stranger.  She was truly a special person and loved by everyone.

Mrs. Spence is survived by two daughters, Sherry Rogers and husband, Donald of Claudville and Ronda Rippey and husband, Jimmy of Cana; three grandchildren, Beau Rogers, Kelly Collins and husband, Chris, and Brandon Collins and wife, Heather; three great grandchildren, Ashton Collins, Harper Collins, and Olivia Collins; two brothers, Johnny Bowman of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and R.C. Bowman of Claudville; several nieces and nephews, and special friends, Marty Collins of Ararat and Ruth Pack of Claudville.

Graveside services for Mrs. Spence will be held on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in Stuart Church of Christ Cemetery at Dry Pond with Pastor Kevin Easter officiating. She will lie in state for friends to come by and pay their final respects on Saturday from 12:00 noon until 5:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart.  Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
