Mrs. Ethlyne Martin Gilley

Mrs. Ethlyne Martin Gilley departed this life on February 1, 2020. She was born on November 5, 1918 to Harbour Reed Martin and Minnie Etta Fain Martin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bert S. Gilley; seven siblings, Annie Martin, Lillian Martin, Euna Martin, Sam Martin, Joel Martin, Hobert Martin, and Francis Crowder. Mrs. Gilley was a faithful member of the Stuart Presbyterian Church serving as Treasurer, Deacon, Elder, and Choir Member. She is remembered for 50 years of service as Deputy Clerk of Court in Patrick County. Ethlyne also served with the Red Cross during WWII as a family contact member.

She is survived by one brother, James Fred Martin; one daughter and son-in-law; two grandsons and their spouses; one granddaughter; and four great-grandchildren.

    Funeral services for Mrs. Gilley will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Stuart Presbyterian Church with Pastor Danny Redman officiating.  Burial will immediately follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church Saturday afternoon.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Jeb Stuart Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O.
