  Mrs. Margaret Ann Thompson Swiney

  Mrs. Margaret Ann Thompson Swiney, age 81 of Meadows of Dan, went to rest in her heavenly home on Sunday, October 10, 2021, at the Laurel Meadows Nursing Home.  She was born in Floyd County on January 17, 1940, to the late Curly Raymond Thompson and Alma Annis Sutphin Thompson.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Bradely Swiney.  Margaret was a member of Mountain View United Methodist Church.  She never met a stranger and loved fishing and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving is her husband of 63 years, Rueben Roger Swiney of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Allen Frazier of Meadows of Dan; one son, Tony D. Swiney of Sun Prairie, WI; seven grandchildren, Tanya McNiff, Nick Swiney, Angie Conner, Nathan Frazier, Ross Frazier, Angelique Swiney, Montana Swiney; six great grandchildren; one sister, Judy Gray of Hamilton; and a niece, Conna Fiorello of Hamilton.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at 2:00 p.m.at Mountain View United Methodist Church with Pastor Terry Martin officiating.  Burial will follow in the Cruise Family Cemetery.  The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the church.  Memorials may be made to the Cruise Family Cemetery Fund c/o Barbara Terry, 8043 Squirrel Spur Rd, Meadows of Dan, VA 24120.  Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
