Reel In and Recycle! Keep our waterways tangle free. Please recycle your used ,e. monofilament fishing line he fishing line here. Presented by the PCHS Fishing Team. This is the signage that identifies the fishing receptacles installed at the Mayo River Trail by the PCHS Fishing Team this spring.

The Patrick County High School fishing team was awarded a grant from “Keep America Fishing” during the spring of 2017.

They were given the grant for their proposal for their “Pitch It Campaign” to properly dispose of soft baits and fishing lines at local lakes and rivers.

The fishing team placed receptacles at the Mayo River Rail Trail, Goose Point and the Number One Marina at Philpott for people to dispose of their soft plastic lures and fishing line instead of throwing them in the water. When lures and line are thrown in the water, it damages the fish. This campaign will keep the lakes and rivers clean and the fish healthier.

The fishing team received over $1,000 worth of lures and supplies from Shimano and Jack All Lures for their idea for this grant and were recognized by “Keep America Fishing.”
