Patrick Henry Community College is offering nine different computer classes for beginners and advanced users, beginning March 22. These classes will take place at the Patrick County site and run through May 19.
Each class lasts for two three-hour sessions and costs $50. Classes include: Boot Camp: Computers for Beginners, Microsoft Powerpoint and Microsoft Access as well as classes covering Microsoft Word and Excel 2013 ranging from basic to advanced skill levels.
The classes are designed to help participants have more confidence with these computer applications and to better meet employers’ increasing computer literacy expectations and job requirements.
All classes will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Patrick County site. The earliest class, Boot Camp: Computers for Beginners, begins March 22. The last class, Microsoft Access, begins May 17. To enroll in any of these classes or for more information, contact (276) 694-8778.
Employers are eligible for a special BOGO discount if they pay the tuition for their employees. Employers who purchase one seat get another seat free.
The classes are offered through the Workforce, Economic and Community Development Division of PHCC. Pre-registration is required. Call to reserve a seat or go to the “career credit” link at www. ph.augusoft.net.
