Learn to maintain fruit trees with proper pruning techniques in class and workshop hosted by Reynolds Homestead.

Master Gardener Jeff Rieves returns to the Reynolds Homestead on Monday, February 27 at 6 p.m. for “A Cut Above: Pruning Fruit Trees Class and Workshop.”

In this session Rieves will discuss pruning as one of the most important things a grower can do for the health of his or her trees. This class covers the basic types of cuts, why to make a pruning cut, and choosing the right tools and how to maintain them.

A hands-on pruning workshop at the Homestead on Saturday, March 11 from 10 a.m. to noon is included in the class. Registration for the class is requested by calling (276) 694-7181; the cost is only $10 and includes both the class and the workshop.
