Robbie Jean Bocock Blackburn Eychaner

Mrs. Robbie Jean Bocock Blackburn Eychaner, age 77 of Patrick Springs, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2023, at her home. She was born in Patrick County on November 9, 1945, to the late Henry Letcher Bocock and Bessie Odessa Ratcliff Bocock. In addition to her parents, Robbie Jean was preceded in death by her first husband, David Harold Blackburn; her second husband, John David “Dave” Eychaner; four brothers, James, Richard, Leon and Edward Bocock; and five sisters, Nora Odell, Christine Caudill, Pauline Kendrick, Rachel “Cleo” Bell, and Margaret Spencer.

Robbie Jean was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church, where she served the Lord and her church community by playing the organ and piano. She worked at Fieldcrest Mills for many years before joining Patrick & Henry Community College, where she met and fell in love with a professor named Dave. After leaving P&HCC, she became a special education aide at Hardin Reynolds Memorial School and formed many close and long-lasting friendships. Robbie & Dave loved traveling across the country. In their later years they enjoyed spending time at the beach collecting starfish and seashells together.

Robbie Jean is survived by her children, Dovie Ann Blankenship (Ricky), Glenn David Blackburn (Stephanie), Kevin Harold Blackburn (Vicky); step-children, Paul Eychaner (Bozena) and Frank Eychaner (Karen); grandchildren, Stephanie Ciarlone (Geoff), Jennifer Hitt (Justin), Mallory Blackburn, Fletcher Blackburn, Michael Violante, Jason Violante, Kellie Violante, David Eychaner, Melanie Eychaner and John Eychaner; great-grandchildren, Grayson Ciarlone and Hudson Hitt; sister, Delphine Rakes (Bobby); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Pleasant View Baptist Church on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at 2:00 PM with Rev. Rick Anderson and Pastor Bobby Rakes officiating. Burial will follow in County Line Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. If desired, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Patrick County Chapter, P.O.
