Mr. Roger Lee Foley, age 72, of Stuart, Virginia passed away on Friday, March 3, 2023, at SOVAH Hospital of Martinsville. He was born in Patrick County on August 20, 1950, to the late Joseph Coolidge Foley and the late Gladys Elizabeth Lawson Foley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Coolidge Foley. Roger enjoyed hunting, fishing, and loved spending time with his family. Mr. Foley will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish the memories of Mr. Foley are his loving wife of 47 years, Doris Thompson Foley of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Terri Thurman (Tim) of Ridgeway, Virginia, Shannon Gravely (Jamie) of Bassett, Virginia; two grandchildren, Savannah Gravely, Samantha Thurman; one brother, Lonnie Foley of Rocky Mount, Virginia; one sister, Deborah Gunnell of Patrick County, Virginia; a nephew, James Foley of Collinsville, Virginia; and several other nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Mr. Foley will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with Pastor Peyton Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow the service in the New Hope Church of the Brethren Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon.
