Mr. Ronald Ray Younger, age 66 of Bassett, passed away Friday, September 9, 2022, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Patrick County on September 2, 1956, to the late Donald Lee Younger and Arlene Conner Younger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Hairston; two brothers, James and Dennis Younger. Ronald was a member of Fresh Harvest Christian Church. He loved basketball and spending time with his nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He was affectionately known by his family, friends, and neighbors as Mr. Weedeater.
Surviving is a son, Ronald Amadeus Younger of Bland; two sisters, Gloria Barbour of Stuart, Mary Conner of Woolwine; two brothers, William Younger of Elliston, Darryl Younger of State Farm; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. LeRoy Wimbush officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at the home of his sister, Gloria Barbour, 6544 Fairystone Park Hwy, Stuart, VA 24171.
