Mr. Roy Lee Hanks, age 82 of Stuart, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at his home. He was born in Richmond on May 17, 1942, to the late William Bedford Hanks and Louisa Virginia Puckett Hanks. He served his country in the U.S. Navy, retiring honorably after 24-years of active service at the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer.
Mr. Hanks is survived by his wife, Sue Collins Hanks of Stuart; two sons, Jody Hanks (Cindy) of Jacksonville, Florida and David Hanks (Kathleen) of Margate, Florida; nine grandchildren, Alex, Adam, Aidan, Michael, Colin, Nicholas, and Neil Hanks, and Jessica Rodriquez; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Bonnie Hashberger of Virginia; and a brother, Mickey Jackson of Texas.
A memorial service for Mr. Hanks will be held Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Mark Collins officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be private. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
