The Southern Area Agency on Aging (SAAA) is providing training for people interested in leading programs in chronic disease self-management.
Do you believe that people should be empowered to manage their own chronic health conditions? Do you have a chronic health condition or care for someone who does? Would you like to be part of a team that facilitates workshops to help people learn skills and strategies to better self-manage their health and enhance their quality of life?
If you answered yes to any of those questions, you might be the perfect leader to facilitate group workshops. Please consider attending the training sessions, which are free. All teaching materials will be provided at no charge.
Dates are Thursdays and Fridays in June (June 2, June 3, June 9 and June 10) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Refreshments and lunch will be provided daily.
The sessions will be held at SAAA, 204 Cleveland Ave., Martinsville.
To register or to learn more about volunteer responsibilities, please contact Amanda Foddrell Shuff, program coordinator, at 276-632-6442 or toll-free 800-468-4571, or via e-mail at ashuff@southernaaa.org.
