The Reynolds Homestead is pleased to announce its Spring Cleaning Community Service Day will be held May 14.
The day will provide an opportunity for local residents to join in various service projects around the grounds. Staff will be onsite leading groups in clearing out the woods around the new Low Ropes Challenge Course, spreading mulch, weeding and planting flowers.
In addition, travel back in time with the staff of Reynolds Homestead and learn how the Reynolds family planted and tended to tobacco.
This is a great opportunity for families, civic groups and scouts who are completing mandated community service hours or anyone interested in lending a helping hand. Staff will provide lunch for those that RSVP, or bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the grounds with friends and family.
Volunteers are invited to bring additional rakes, small gardening tools, wheelbarrows, etc. The service day will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feel free to come for a few hours or for the day.
For more information call Reynolds Homestead at (276) 694-7181 or email Rachel Lagergren, rlagergren@vt.edu or Sarah Wray, wrayse88@vt.edu.
