Attention Patrick County High School students: the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Patrick County Soil and Water Conservation District sponsors two PCHS students on a first come first serve basis for the Virginia Association of Soil and Water Conservation Camp Scholarship.
The week-long camp will be held July 10-16 on the campus of Virginia Tech. The camp is designed to enlighten and expand the students’ knowledge of natural resource conservation. There will be a minimum of classroom work, with emphasis on outdoor learning.
Each camper attending will be given a certificate and award. Participants must be students in grades 9-12. No graduate of high school may attend camp. Previous Youth Conservation Camp campers are ineligible to attend.
The participant must return the application to the Patrick SWCD with a $100 non-refundable deposit by Tuesday, May 10; serious inquiries only. The district will sponsor the remaining balance of $450. The fee for camp will cover the student’s meals, lodging, activities and transportation while at camp.
