Small business seminar to be held

Longwood University Small Business Development Center (LSBDC) will host a Small Business Seminar on Thursday, May 2 from 10 a.m. to noon at Patrick Henry Community College in the Thomas P. Dalton IDEA Center, 26 Fayette St., Meeting Room, second floor in Martinsville.

Longwood University’s business analyst, Michael Scales, will teach the course.

Services are confidential and free, due to support from US Small Business Administration, Longwood University and local governments.

Those with an established business, can benefit from the discussion that includes financial analysis and profitability, competitive strategies, marketing plans, hiring and managing employees and more.

LSBDC can help in a business start up with developing a business plan, locating suppliers, seeking sources for startup funds, obtaining licenses and permits and more; including training.
