Join Stuart Fire Department in participating in the fourth annual Stop, Drop, & Run 5K Run/Walk with Memorial Stair Climb on Saturday, September 9.

The 5K will take place in Uptown Stuart starting at Stuart Fire Department’s new station (the former Food Lion building) parking lot, at 8 a.m.

Stuart Fire Department’s new station has recently been purchased, and members are eagerly awaiting the start for the many renovations to its new home. All race proceeds will go directly to the building fund and will be used to benefit the new station.

Stuart Fire Department members have been working hard on building momentum for the new fire station, and they are hoping to continue this with the run through the Town of Stuart. The memorial stair climb is a unique twist, and is used to honor and remember those that were lost on September 11, 2001. The stair climb will take place in the county administration building, running from the first floor up to the third floor across the hall, and back down.

The cost of the race is $20 for those who register prior to August 25. Race day registration will be available from 7 to 7:45 a.m. for $25.  Pre-registration packet pickup will be available on Friday, September 8, at the Town Office, 100 Patrick Avenue, Stuart, and the morning of the race.   Please visit the Facebook page for the event: Stuart Fire Department’s fourth annual 5K – Stop, Drop, & Run, to find registration forms and additional information.  Registration forms are available at the Town Office or online.

Fire department members are extremely excited to be able to continue this tradition, and are thankful for the participants and the opportunity to see those in our community that they serve.
