The Patrick County High School track team competed in the Group 3A Conference 32 Outdoor Track Tournament at Hidden Valley High School Saturday. Both boys’ and girls’ teams placed fifth in the six-team tournament.
Leading the Lady Cougars was Lexy Carico who placed first in the discus with a throw of 121-1.
The Lady Cougar 4 x 400 relay team, consisting of Armonte Carter, Emma Hubbard, Lindsey Marshall and Autumn Hubbard, placed first with a time of 10:24.99. This relay team set a new school record by over six seconds.
Second place finishes went to Amber Triplett in the 100m dash. She had a time of 13.33. Emma Hubbard finished second in the 800m run with a time of 2:22.6. The 4 x 800m relay team also placed second. The team consisted of Armonte Carter, Izzy Beasley, Sydnee Burnette and Emma Hubbard.
Izzy Beasley placed third in the 300m hurdles with a time of 2:22.66. The 4 x 100 relay team finished third with a time of 59.93 with the team including Armonte Carter, Amber Triplett, Lindsey Marshall and Autumn Hubbard.
Lindsey Marshall was fourth in the 400m dash, and Autumn Hubbard placed fifth in the 400m dash and fifth in the shot put. Molly Hernandez placed sixth in the discus.
On the boys’ side of competition, Shane Spencer finished second in the discus with a throw of 130-7. Ethan Gilbert was fourth in the 800m run. Juan Cisneros placed sixth in both the 1600m and 3200m runs; Cisneros accomplished personal records for both of his runs.
The boys’ 4 x 400m relay finished fourth. The team consisted of Jared Biedrycki, Ethan Gilbert, Jacob Kisamore and Zach Montgomery.
All of the above track team members qualified for the 3A West Region Track Meet to be held this Friday and Saturday at Hidden Valley High School.
