Varsity baseball team gets two wins

The Patrick County Varsity Baseball Team defeated Eastern Montgomery 8-1 on Monday, April 4.

Camden Nowlin got the start on the mound, going 3 innings, striking out 5, walking 1, allowing 2 hits and no runs. 

Jackson Horton pitched for 2 innings, striking out 4, walking none, and allowing no hits or runs. 

Hunter Strole finished the game on the mound pitching 2 innings, striking out 2, walking 1, and allowing 1 hit and 1 run. 

The offense was led by Nowlin, Bubba Taylor, Troy Cox, Martin Sawyers, and Ty Stowe-Holt. 

The Cougars defeated Martinsville 29-1, on Friday, April 8. 

Strole went 3 scoreless innings on the mound, giving up 1 hit, striking out 6, and walking 2. 

Gavin Fain went 2 innings, giving up 1 run on 2 hits, striking out 5 and walking 2. 

The Cougars were led at the plate by Toby Perkins who had 4 hits. Nowlin and Stowe Holt had 3 hits each. Horton, Braedon Augustine, Cox, and Martin Sawyers had 2 hits each.
