The Varsity Boys had a tough 47-75 loss Wednesday, December 11, when they hosted Dan River.

Coach Brian Chitwood said, “Our young men battled for the 1st quarter. Unfortunately, we play four. We took a 6-2 lead out of the gate. Dan River answered back and took a 10-point lead. We hit a 3-point shot with 8 seconds left in the 1st and cut their lead to 23-20.  They hit a very deep 3-pointer at the buzzer to push the lead to 26-20 and we never recovered. They are a very good and athletic team. They were ranked #2 in the state 2A basketball coming into the contest.”

Tyler Marshall led the Cougars with 11 points, 9 of those behind the 3-point line. He added 1 rebound, 2 assists, and 1 steal.  Easton Harris had 9 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block.  Noah Jessup had 7 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals.
