Volleyball team wins one, loses one on the road

The Patrick County Varsity Volleyball Team travelled to North Stokes on August 30.  The Lady Cougars won in four sets: 25-20, 21-25, 26-24, and 25-13.

Suzanne Gonzalez led the team offensively with 22 kills, 22 digs, and 7 aces. Lainie Hopkins had 35 assists, 9 kills, 17 digs, and 2 aces. Samantha Harris added 9 kills, 5 aces, and 5 digs.

The JV Lady Cougars defeated North Stokes in 3 sets: 25-16, 23-25, and 15-12.

Bryley Pike had 7 kills, 11 receiving points, and 6 dig. Lilly Hazelwood had 5 kills, 8 aces, and 7 receiving points. Libero Journey Moore had 12 receiving points, 3 aces, and 8 digs. Setter Camille Gonzalez had 9 assists and Eliza Clifton had 5 assists at the setter position.

The Lady Cougar teams travelled to Bassett on September 2. The varsity team lost to the Lady Bengals in 4 sets: 25-21, 17-25, 18-25, and 14-25.

The JV Lady Cougars defeated Bassett in 2 sets: 25-20 and 25-27. Outside hitter Lilly Hazelwood had 3 kills, 3 aces, and 4 receiving points. Bryley Pike had 2 kills, 4 aces, and 7 receiving points. Libero Journey Moore had 10 receiving points, 8 aces, 2 kills, and led the Cougar defense in digs with 7. Setter Camille Gonzalez had a team high of 10 assists.
