WES holds veterans day ceremony

Woolwine Elementary School sends special thanks  and appreciation to all veterans and  to those who attended their Veterans Day Celebration on Tuesday, Nov. 6.

Randy Gunter’s sixth graders presented the program. PCHS Principal and veteran Trey Cox was the guest speaker. He discussed the importance of celebrating and honoring veterans each day. The PCHS Military STAR Club Color Guard presented the  colors. Julie Brown, music teacher and students played the “National Anthem” and other selections titled, “Legacy of Heroes.” Victoria Stephens and chorus students also performed.

The Veterans and their families enjoyed a meal prepared by Ellen Hylton, cafeteria manager, and Ms. Hylton and Angie Cockerham, cafeteria staff. Jason Roop and Mandy Worley, school nurse, Junior Beta sponsors and club members served the veterans and families during the lunch in the gym.

Jeannie King, principal said she appreciates all veterans, their families, the sixth graders, band/chorus members, Junior Beta members, Sandra Rakes and  PCHS Military STAR Club, cafeteria staff, office staff, technology staff, teachers, staff, custodial staff, guest speaker and veterans Cox and Superintendent Bill Sroufe for their support of the school and students.
