The Patrick Springs Ruritan Club met Thursday, April 9th, for their monthly meeting. The first order of business included discussion of a sponsorship for the girls softball team for grades 3 through 5 at Patrick Springs and Hardin Reynolds Elementary Schools. A check for $200 was presented to coach Brad Holt and members of the team to help purchase uniforms for the players.
President David Clement then presented Clay Walker with his membership pin, placed on him by his grandfather and longtime member, Wilbur Walker.
A Poor Man’s Supper was held on March 27th at Patrick Springs Park where members served up delicious meals of pinto beans, ham, and all the fixings to help raise money for the park. The club was able to donate $800 to the park to help with the cost of new playground equipment.
The club also provided lunch for the faculty and staff at Patrick Springs Primary School in April to thank them for all they do for our community’s children.
