In the book of Matthew, chapter 5 verses 3-12, we find Jesus speaking about a word called “beatitudes.” The word actually means supreme blessings from our Heavenly Father. There are nine beatitudes that tell the Christian in everything we go through there are blessings from God, if we show the character of Christ like. Each beatitude tells us how to be blessed.

Being blessed is more than happiness, more than money, more than laughter and pleasure. It is the outward personality from deep down inside that glows with the love of Jesus Christ. These beatitudes teach us to give when others take, to love when others hate, to help when others abuse, to give up your own rights in order to serve others, for one day you will receive your reward. Serving God doesn’t mean fortune or fame, being free from suffering and grief, hunger and persecution in this present life; but it is a promise of a reward for those who diligently seek Him.

James 1:12, Blessed is the man that endureth temptation for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love Him.

We are very much blessed. We have much more than we deserve. There are some who have nothing but their Faith in God, who are the happiest people in the world. Why can’t we just accept what we have and say “thank you Lord for all your Blessings upon me?” He alone deserves our Praise and Honor. Thank God any way.
