Mr. Gary Lee Cummings, age 71, of Patrick Springs, Virginia departed this earthly life on May 2, 2023, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Martinsville, Virginia on October 3, 1951, to the late Willie Allen “Bill” Cummings and the late Nannie Deal Cummings. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Lynsey Ann; one brother, Allen Cummings; and several aunts and uncles. Gary loved gardening, flowers (especially sunflowers), playing the guitar, and spending time with his beloved family. Gary will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish the fond memories of Gary Cummings are his loving wife of 52 years, Ann Cummings of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Beth Lawson (John) of Patrick Springs, Virginia, Brandi Williams (Ronnie) of Patrick Springs, Virginia; six grandchildren, Jessica Wheeler, Nate Scott, Lauryn Williams, Blake Lawson, Haley Lawson, and Trinity Lawson all of Patrick Springs, Virginia.
A funeral service for Mr. Gary Cummings will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Freddie Bonds officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service in the Martin Family Cemetery on Hardie Stone Road in Patrick Springs, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Saturday afternoon at the funeral home.
