Iva Jean Collins Hiatt Scott, age 88, of Ararat, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016, at Twelve Oaks Retirement Center.
She was born in Patrick County on July 16, 1927, and was a daughter of the late Thomas T. and Minnie Bowman Collins. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Haywood Hiatt; her second husband, Jack Scott; sisters, Irene Montgomery, Betty Lou Thomas, Shirley Bowman and Georgia Puckett; and by brothers, Walter Collins, Harry Collins and Thurman Collins.
She was such a loving person and everyone who met her instantly loved her. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
Surviving are one daughter, Patricia Hiatt; one son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Barbara Hiatt; grandchildren, Alan Hiatt and wife Bridgette, Mark Hiatt, and Gerald Culler and wife Tiffany; great-grandchildren, Whitley Culler, Emily Culler, Bailey Culler, Amber Sigmon, Taylor Hiatt, Jordan Hiatt and Shockley Hiatt; three great-great-grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, Clifford and Sue Collins.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, April 19, 2016, by Rev. Monte Mitchell. Burial was in Gunnell Cemetery.
