Jane Moorefield Shelton

Mrs. Jane Moorefield Shelton, age 91 of Stuart, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 15, 2022, at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. She was born in Patrick County on November 11, 1930, to the late Charlie W. Moorefield and Lucy Handy Moorefield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob C. Shelton; one daughter, Linda S. Mize; one sister, Louise Shelton; two brothers, Benton and Bruce Moorefield; one half-sister, Myrtle Flippin; two half-brothers, Herbert and Lester Anderson; and a special friend, Robert Peak. Jane had retired from DuPont. She loved teaching ceramics out of her house and coordinating and participating in bus tours all over the country for which she had travelled to all 50 states.

Surviving is a grandson, Stephen Mark Anthony, Jr.; two great grandchildren, Tiffany Pendleton, Ashley Burnette; two great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service at Patrick Memorial Gardens will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd., Dobson, NC 27017 or to Rich Acres Baptist Church, 78 Stuart Ridge Rd., Martinsville, VA 24112. Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.

    I will always remember the bus trips that Jane, Lou and June go together. we had so much fun. Jane was a special lady. God added another angel.
