Jeffrey Allen Parsons, age 52, of Patrick Springs, died Monday, February 20, 2017.

He was born in Sparta, N.C., on January 21, 1965, and was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Isaac Parsons.

He was a special husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend who enjoyed helping in the community.  Surviving his loving wife, Sandra Belcher Parsons of the home; two sons, David Parsons and Katherine Alderman of Bassett and Jeffrey “Garrett” Parsons of the home, one grandson, Ethan David Parsons; his mother, Joyce Bryant Parsons of Bassett; four siblings, Pam Hollandsworth of Patrick Springs, Peggy McMurry and husband Don of Graysville, Tenn., Harvey “Doug” Parsons of Walton, Ky., and Kim Chitwood and husband John of Martinsville; and several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. at the home at 7267 Abram Penn Hwy. in Patrick Springs with Pastor Tim Satterfield officiating. Burial was private.

The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the home, as well as other times.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Boy Scout Troop 69, c/o Kevin Reynolds, 385 Trents Orchard Road, Patrick Springs, Virginia 24133.
