obit-larry-cobblerLarry Richard Cobbler, age 64, of Spencer, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at his home.
He was born in Patrick County on December 27, 1951 and was a son of the late Joseph Richard Cobbler and Mildred Coleman Cobbler. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Nannie Ruth Merritt, Rachel Cobbler and Carolyn Cobbler; and a brother, Joe Cobbler.
He was a member of Mayo Christian Church. Surviving are his wife, of 45 years, Danie Goard Cobbler of the home; one son, Richard Darren Cobbler and wife Tashia Bullins Cobbler of Spencer; one daughter, Tina Nelson and husband Todd of Ararat; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Wayne Cobbler and wife Linda of Rocky Mount, Marion Cobbler and wife Glenda of Stuart, and Douglas Cobbler and companion Pamela Plummer of Spencer; a sister-in-law, Alice Cobbler of Stuart; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Friday at Mayo Christian Church with Minister Milfred Hudson and Pastors Curt Ashley and Butch Dillinger officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
