Mr. Charlie Dodd “C.D.” Williams

Mr. Charlie Dodd “C.D.” Williams, age 82 of Stuart, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2021.  He was born on January 13, 1939, in Patrick County to the late Benjamin Williams and Annie Hall Williams.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Dillard Williams; and four sisters, Paulene Stegall, Betty Jean Conner, Edna Hylton, and Lucy Terry.  C.D. had retired from J.P Stevens and was a member of Wayside Community Church where he was a Deacon and choir leader.  He loved the outdoors and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

Surviving is his wife of 62 years, Mary Hall Williams of the home; one daughter, Patricia Williams of Stuart; one son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Tracy Williams of Stuart; three grandchildren, Cody Williams and wife, Courtney, Caleb Williams, Adam Hamby; four great-grandchildren, Wesley Williams, Rowan Williams, Dawson Williams, Troy Hamby; two sisters, Onie Vaughn of Claudville, Joyce Belcher of Stuart; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 11, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Teddy Hiatt officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mayo Mountain Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
