Mr. Joseph Mulholland

Mr. Joseph Mulholland, age 81 of Stuart passed away on Monday, November 29, 2021, at the Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart.  He was born in Belfast, Ireland on April 9, 1940, to the late Joseph and Winifred Carlton Mulholland.  In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Mulholland.  He was of the Catholic faith and attended the Church of the Risen Lord in Patrick Springs.  He moved to New York in 1958 and served in the United States Army for two years.  Later he was employed by the State of New York and retired there.  He acquired land and moved to Patrick County in 2002.  Joe had many interests and enjoyed lively conversations with friends, especially concerning history, religion, and politics.  He enjoyed dancing and music of all kinds and was himself, an amateur pianist.  He was a member of the Patrick County Genealogy Society and Mountain Home Masonic Lodge Post #263.  He had volunteered with the American Red Cross for many years.

         Joe is survived by five nieces and nephews, Patricia Donnelly and husband, Michael, Francis T. Mulholland, Caroline Quinn and husband, Dennis, Linda Mulholland and friend, Gerry, and Thomas Mulholland, all of Northern Ireland; and special friends, Betty Holt and family of Stuart.

         A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, December 11, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Risen Lord with the Rev. Herman Katongole officiating.  Interment will be held in Patrick Memorial Gardens following the Mass.  Friends may come by Moody Funeral Home in Stuart to sign his book through Friday, December 10, 2021.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Red Cross or to a charity of the donor’s choice.  Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
