Nelva Ruth Underwood, 78 of Stuart, passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021. She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Buren & Mary Treva Underwood; sister, Dorothy Gaye Underwood; and great-niece, Misty Dawn Blevins.
She is survived by her brother & sister-in-law, Noel & Hilda Underwood; sister, Reva Shough; nieces and nephews, Regina D. Massey, Steven M. VanSutphin, Duane Underwood, Angela Akers, and Tammy Eames; special friend, James Huff; and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, in the Slate Mountain Presbyterian Church with Pastor Wesley Conner and Pastor Jeff Dalton officiating. Interment will follow in the Slate Mountain Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
