The 4-H Share the Fun Talent Show was held on Friday, March 23 at Patrick County High School. Shenandoah Shelton was the overall winner in the senior division with a combination guitar and vocal act of the song“House of the Rising Sun.” Kya Pruitt won the junior division with her vocal performance to “Rolling in the Deep.”

In the junior division, Kya Pruitt was chosen to move to the area competition to be held on Saturday, May 5 at Riverlawn Elementary School in Pulaski County. Kya will be competing in the vocal category.  She received a blue ribbon for her performance.

The senior act moving up to the state competition to be held in June at Virginia Tech will be combination act Shenandoah Shelton performing “House of the Rising Sun.” Shenandoah received a blue ribbon for her performance.

Senior acts receiving a red ribbon included vocalist Niki Burkhart singing “Sober.”

Red ribbon winners in the junior division included: Ginny Nations and Autumn Bowman dancing to “Uptown Funk;” Fiona Woodford, instrumentalist, performing a flute solo to “The Sound of Silence;”  Noah Hiatt and Tyler Holt with their variety magic act “Prestige;” Riley Hubbard roller skating to “Billy Jean;” Taylor Edwards singing “Clean;” Lindsey Jones singing “Faded” and Braedon Augustine singing “Too Good at Goodbyes.”

4-H Camp slides were shown from last year’s camp as leaders begin preparation for the 2018 4-H camp to be held June 4-8 at WE Skelton 4-H Center at Smith Mountain Lake. They appreciate Tamika Reynolds for putting together this year’s 4-H camp slide show.

Ginny Nations and Autumn Bowman danced to “Uptown Funk.”

Stage managers included Joseph Fiorenzo.

Judges were Anna Clark Lester, Laura Lea Hutchens and Patty Hazelwood.

Mistresses of Ceremonies included Madison Mullis and Audrey Young.

This show would not be possible without the elementary school talent show managers and emcees.  Leigh Ann Hazelwood, Extension agent and 4-H director, said that she and the students are truly thankful for the support of all of the faculty, staff, and parents at each elementary school that make this show possible.
